Cookie policy
What is stored in your browser, who puts it there and how to change it.
What a cookie is
A small file a website stores in your browser to remember something: your language, a choice you made, or to count visits. Alongside them we use "local storage", which does the same without technically being a cookie. Both are covered here.
Nothing loads until you choose
On your first visit a notice appears with three options: accept all, reject all, or adjust. Until you choose, measurement tools are set to denied and store no cookies or identifiers. Rejecting is as easy as accepting: two equal buttons.
You can change your mind at any time from "Cookie settings" at the foot of any page.
Exactly what is stored
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| pt-cookies | This site (local storage) | Remember your cookie choice | 6 months |
| pt-fechas | This site (session storage) | Remember the dates you picked while you browse | Until you close the tab |
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics | Tell visitors apart and measure use of the site, in aggregate | Up to 2 years |
| _gcl_au | Measure whether an ad ends in a booking | 90 days |
The first two are needed for the site to work as you expect and cannot be switched off. Google's are only set if you allow them.
The Mews booking engine opens on its own domain (app.mews.com) and uses its own cookies under its own policy: mews.com.
Deleting them from your browser
Besides this site's settings panel, every browser lets you view and delete a site's cookies: Chrome and Edge under "Settings → Privacy"; Safari under "Preferences → Privacy"; Firefox under "Settings → Privacy & Security". If you delete them, the notice will appear again next time.
